Dana and Anton, Agent V and Agent M appear on Alyson Dunlop’s XFiles (ADXFiles) to discuss Aliens and the Occult. Topics include Aleister Crowley, Aiwass, LAM, Austin Osman Spare, Chaos Magic, sigils, KIA Invisible Agents, childhood experiences, liminal states, crocodiles, cats, aliens and Operation Intruder. There is also some classic music in the interludes. Enjoy!
I decided to experiment with creating a Solomonic style seal for Operation Intruder. The intention is to create a set of seals with all of the OpIntruder sigils. I would like to create one of each not only for the original abduction and ontological shock sigils but also all the other ones that various agents came up with since the beginning of the operation. The idea came from my chat with Dana Varahi. She made a set of wax seals as part of her Abramelin Operation and shared with me the method used. Dana followed instructions she found on solomonicmagic blog.
Making my OpIntruder seal took around 1 hour in total. It was fun and fairly easy. I suspect that to create more complex shapes it will be easier to carve hard wax. I followed Dana’s method of carving the sigil with a toothpick when wax was still soft. It seems a good method for simple shapes but it would be very messy and impractical for complex designs. The seal is fairly fragile and tiny bits of the foil occasionally flake off when handled. It looks great and I will enjoy using it but it needs gentle handling and keeping away from heat so it doesn’t melt!
I am going to describe my own adaptation of the method.
You will need:
- double boiler (small pan inside of a bigger pan)
- small plate with a rim
- baking paper
- cocktail stick
- ufo cookie cutter (available on ebay)
- small knife
- chunk of beeswax
- some pine resin
- gold or silver leaf sheets (available in nail art shops)
- Prepare your double boiler by placing the larger pan on the hob, half filling it with water and putting the smaller pan inside. Place your wax in the smaller pan so it can melt. Meanwhile grate your resin into powder and add to the wax. It should slowly dissolve. I added quite a lot of resin (around 30% of the wax volume). It helps to make the wax sticky, which is useful when applying the gold leaf.
- Cut out a circle from the baking paper and line your plate. Pour the melted wax and leave until it sets a little before proceeding. You want the surface of the wax to turn solid but the inside still be a little soft. It took just over 5 minutes in my case.
- Place the ufo cookie cutter on top of the wax and draw the shape with cocktail stick. you want to make a deep line so it will be easy to separate the ufo from the remaining wax. Once this is done draw the sigil within the ufo, leaving some space away from the deep line. Leave to set completely.
- To remove the wax from the plate place it on a hot surface for short time. I put mine on an electric hob on the lowest setting for few seconds. The wax will melt and the disk will come out easily. (Watch out for the plate, it might be hot!) Remove the baking paper from underneath the wax disk. Now you can gently pull the wax away from the ufo shape. Carefully observe the ufo shape to make sure you do not stretch it accidentally. You can use a knife. Tidy up the edges by gently cutting bits off to even them up.
- You have a small wax ufo ready to be covered with silver or gold leaf. Make sure your hands are not sticky. The foil is very delicate and stick to everything. Place the ufo sigil face on the gold leaf, press gently, turn both over and gently massage the sigil surface. You will be able to see how the film sticks to it. You can bend the leaf around the edges to cover them. It helps to use the paper your gold leaf came with to gently rub around the edges until smooth. Turn your ufo and stick the foil to the other side. At the end you can trace over the sigil with the cocktail stick to remove the foil. It helps the shape to stand out.
The purpose of Operation Intruder is to target the worlds leaders, in whatever capacity they lead, for alien abduction. The idea is that the alien abduction experience leads to such symptoms as ontological shock, environmental awareness, increased compassion, distrust for authority, interest in decentralised spirituality and so on.
And of course it is quite fun making memes and tagging politicians, bankers, ceos, media moguls, generals, terrorist leaders, dictators and oligarchs, which perhaps explains the rapid growth in this operations popularity.
However I would argue that an Operation Intruder agent should consider tagging themselves. Tagging yourself is an act of CE5, or Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind: Human Initiated Contact. Why would you want to do this? Here are 5 reasons…
1. Experiencing contact for yourself will empower your belief in the operation.
Experiencing some success with CE5 will help you form a relationship with the sigil that will empower future rituals with it.
2. Your personal transformation will allow fuller participation.
The aliens will transform you if you experience successful contact. If this results in increased environmental awareness, increased compassion and more distrust of authority, then you will be better able to select targets. Also, it maybe that the ufonauts have special missions and messages for you to pass back to other Operation Intruder agents. Perhaps new sigils or methods.
3. How can you expect the aliens to listen to you if you aren’t in contact with them yourself?
This may seem obvious, but how do you expect your sigils to work if you can’t share them directly? Social media may help with this, in that other agents who are in contact may pass on the message, but nothing quite beats the personal touch. Make contact, reach out and make friends. Even telepathic contact is better than nothing.
4. Friends are more likely to help friends.
Which brings us to point number 4. The Ufonauts will be much more likely to listen to you and trust you if they can consider you a friend. This may mean learning how to help them.
5. It is empowering to consider yourself as a part of the conspiracy that runs the world.
If we believe the ufonauts have the power to change the world, then believing they are your friends means you an agent of the conspiracy that controls the world. Operation Intruder is a core part of the conspiracy. Which means that on a certain level, you are a world leader. And therefore you should be targeted. Paradoxical? Maybe.
This attitude dates back at least as far as Robert Anton Wilson and the Discordians (who also enjoyed a good paradox). Operation Mindfuck is a precursor and influence on Operation Intruder.
Operation Intruder, launched earlier this summer, seems to be gathering momentum. We received confirmations from other Agents as to its success and have had the pleasure to experience it ourselves. We have nothing to offer skeptics and debunkers. We may not promise anything to the believer. We seem to be receiving interesting results that can be comprehended by the illuminated agents adept at deciphering the language of the universe. I feel we are just warming up.
This video is charging the launched sigil so by watching it you participate in OpIntruder.
Last week Agent V and I performed our first formal ritual for Operation Intruder, a charging and empowering of the main Abduction sigil. I say abduction, it can also be used as an aid for CE5. Our technique here involved drawing a chalk sigil on the concrete slabs on our patio:
As you can see we chose to empower the sigil with a chaos star and two Linking Sigils (one inverted). Additionally the glyph has two added hexagrams and a sigil Agent V received a number of years back which is connected to Loch Ness and the Book of the Law.
We decided to charge this sigil with the gnosis/trance/altered state of watching birds feeding. We see the birds as spirits of the garden in a sense, so in feeding them we feed the spirits.
This seed was placed late in the evening, and whilst it was still light here in the highlands of Scotland, the birds were no longer active. So it was not till the next morning when we watched one of the local Wood Pigeons eating the last of the original seed…
After taking the photos I entered more deeply into trance, aided by having completed our morning walking meditation through the local forest, and sitting to our enjoy our Tantric Agent Coffee meditation, an older daily meditation we have consistently followed for a number of years now.
That evening the rain quickly washed the sigil away, leaving no trace it was ever there…
This post is a brief summary of some thoughts I plan to expand upon later, with further research. It explores some of the findings of Agent V and myself as we have explored UFOs deeply as a magical paradigm. In particular it relates to the UFO as a mandala symbol, and the implications of this in terms of magically understanding the abduction experience.
Carl Jung and the Mandala
Research from Agent V found that in his book, ‘Flying Saucers: A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Sky’, Jung compares the circular discs to the idea of a mandala. The mandala then we might see as a symbol of unity, and therefore of the monad.
In Qaballah the monad appears as the sephirot Keter, which means Crown. It sits at the top of the tree of life. In the Zohar it is said that it is “the most hidden of all hidden things”, and that it is both invisible and incomprehensible. The crown sits on our head, which symbolizes that it is beyond the capability of our mind to comprehend. It is also called ‘the hidden light’.
In Tantric mysticism, the crown chakra, Sahasrara, is symbolised by a thousand petalled lotus that floats a little above the head, with a downwards pointing triangle in its centre. Its powers include detachment from illusion and the realization that all is one and one is all.
Many flying saucer type UFO craft are described as having triangles in their centre or lights in triangular formation. Others have been said to have left markings in the ground in perfect equilateral triangle formation. Some, such as those seen in the famous Belgian Wave, also had triangular form.
Joseph Campbell, the Mandala and Leviathan
In Gnosticism, the demiurge was sometimes symbolised by a crowned serpent, biting its tail, the ouroborus Leviathan. This was called by Hermetic alchemists hen to pan, which means ‘One the All’. By comparing the Hermetic ouroborus with Plato’s concept of the mind as Demiurge, or imperfect creator attempting to construct a world from pre-existing material, the Gnostics were saying they saw the concepts as equivalent. We find a similar creator of illusion in Hindu mythology in the form of Maya, often depicted holding a mandala, representing Samsara, the false creation (of the mind).
So we see no surprise that in contrast to Jung, comparative mythologist Joseph Campbell saw the mandala as negative. Rather than celebrate oneness, Campbell saw the mandala as representing societal conformity. In other words it represented the right hand path trap of enslaving the individual to consensus reality.
In discussing this with Agent V we determined that a sizable number of teenagers rebel against their dominant ‘mandala’ societies in some way. They often do this via strong identification with a subculture. However, subcultures themselves form their own mandalas, so many retreat back to the main mandala of their culture. Some more adventurous young people explore many such cultures, and in so doing start to build their own individual identity.
A while back we listened to an interview on ‘Coast to coast’ with Thunder Strikes on the subject of shadow people. Thunder Strikes belongs to a Native American group called the Twisted Hairs. This group has an interesting history in that it is said to have formed from members of different tribes that each had in common that they had learned the mysteries of their own tribe but were hungry for more, so they travelled from tribe to tribe learning what they could from each. Of course in this way they eventually came across each other and formed their own school.
Said to have originally formed over three thousand years ago as the ‘Rattlesnake school of Turtle Island’, this group braids their hair together to represent knowledge taken from many sources to form ‘braids of truth’. Of course such a blending could itself form a new mandala, but the idea of receptivity to new knowledge may offer some resistance to this trend. We may see parallels to the Twisted Hairs in Western mystical and magical traditions to various degrees, such as the new age movement, Chaos magic and eclectic paganism. We might also see it in KIA and in Free Illuminism.
To contact or not to contact
So how can the awakening of the crown chakra symbolise the shattering of illusion when its very image is a representation of that illusion? Perhaps because it represents the group mind or societal egregores that we have inadvertently become part of. By fully activating this chakra we bring the invisible light of this realm into our awareness and see the illusion of our cultural conditioning exposed for what it is, to whatever degree we can comprehend this incomprehensible message.
Therefore whilst the UFO may then seem a symbol of the very unity that traps us in illusion, seeing it also represents the very awaking that helps us break free. Imagine for a moment how boarding an extraterrestrial or ultraterrestrial craft and flying amongst the stars or to another dimension with alien beings would impact your sense of normality.
Keter is in Malkuth
The abduction experience may then represent an involuntary mystical visionary experience of the oneness of all things, and therefore the seeing through the illusion of our societies blinkered world view. But please note that we are not saying that no physical UFOs exist and that physical abductions don’t happen. We have no way of knowing that short of experiencing it for ourselves or remembering clearly that it already did.
What we are saying, is that regardless of whether the experiences happen as a result of misidentification, hallucination, optical illusion, mystical awakening, visionary experience or contact with actual physical craft and beings, the effect on our conscious perception of reality may prove equally shaken.
Being taken on board a physical craft may not be exactly the same as the mystical experience of absorption into the monad, but we may liken the experience in some ways to the Keter in Malkuth, the ultimate physical ritual reenactment of the monad experience on the material plane.
Big thanks to Agent V. A lot of the above is based on her wider reading on this subject and what she has told me, or read out to me, concerning Jung’s and Campbell’s ideas on the Mandala. I hope to read them for myself shortly. For the record, the relevant book by Campbell is ‘Flight of the Wild Gander’, in particular the essay ‘The symbol without meaning’ contained therein.
